Yellow and Blue Sticky Traps

Yellow and Blue Sticky Traps

To protect crops from pests, farmers are using variety of chemical pesticides. However these pesticides are harmful to humans as well as environment. Patil Biotech Pvt. Ltd offers eco-friendly, cost effective, easy to use alternative to protect crops from plant pests. We offer chromatic sticky traps, Yellow and Blue. These traps are designed as per guidelines of global organic standards.

Using our YST and BST, farmers are able to control aphids, leaf hoppers, capsids, shore fly, white fly, brown plant hopper, diamondback moth, leaf miners, fungus gnats, onion flies, cucumber beetles, jassids, frog hoppers, wasps and many more insects.

Method of use:

Our sticky traps are made up of PP corrugated sheet. These are tough and coated with strong organic adhesive, on both sides. Apply any available cooking oil to your hand before handling traps. This will prevent the glue from sticking strongly on your palms. Remove the wrap of bundle. Each bundle contains 25 sheets in case of Yellow Sticky Traps and 10 sheets in case of Blue Sticky Traps. After removing the top transparent paper, pill apart the sticky sheets. Each sheet has two holes that can be used to tie the trap with stick/rod using a thread or string. Now place the trap just above crop foliage. Increase the height as the crop grows. In green houses, install additional traps near doors, windows and vents for better monitoring. The fly pests are drawn to the trap because of the specific shade of yellow/blue used. These colors appear to insect eyes as fresh green foliage. Once struck on trap, insects can neither feed nor reproduce. This leads to failure of further population rise and prevents sucking damage. Patil Biotech sticky traps are now set to protect your crop round the clock for as many days as possible.

Strategic use:

For monitoring use six sheets per acre so that you can keep the track of number of types and number of flies trapped. Based on this information you can plan further remedial action. For mass trapping, use 12 to 18 traps per acre. If pest infestation is alarmingly high, increase the number of traps per acre. When trap is full of flies, replace it with fresh trap.

Advantage of using YST and BST:

  1. Non-drying
  2. Non-fading
  3. Non-dripping
  4. Sturdy to wind
  5. Water proof
  6. Resistant to all ambient temperatures
  7. Double side gumming give extra sticky surface
  8. It attracts more flies from long distances
